Career

Hou Sæter made his Rosenborg debut on 24 April 2014 in the domestic cup in a game against Orkla FK, making him the youngest player ever to make his debut for Rosenborg. He was 16 year and 101 days at the time of his debut. On 28 September he made his debut in the Tippeligaen against Aalesund coming on in the 81st minute in a 3-0 victory. This made him the youngest ever league debutant for Rosenborg with his 16 years and 258 days, beating Ola By Rise with 9 days.

In November 2015 Hou Sæter, alongside teammates Andreas Helmersen and Sivert Solli, became the first players in Norwegian football history to having won the Under-16, Under-19 and the senior Norwegian Football Cup. Hou Sæter and Helmersen having won the Under-16 cup twice. Sæter won the Under-16 Cup in 2013 and 2014 and then the Under-19 and the senior cup in 2015. Sæter scored in both the Under-16 finals and the Under-19 final.

In August 2016 Hou Sæter signed a new two-year deal with Rosenborg before being sent out on loan to Ranheim for the remainder of the season.

When Sæter was 10 years old he participated in an international football school competition arranged by Manchester United. He was chosen as one of 37 of the 20,000 participants to come attend the finale in Manchester, at The Cliff. He finished second in the competition, only beating by a boy who was 1 year older. He received an award from Bobby Charlton alongside the winner and the third placed boy.
