Johannes Richter (20 September 1917 – 24 April 2008) was a highly decorated Oberfeldwebel in the Luftwaffe during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Richter flew as Helmut Lent's and Rudolf Schoenert's radio and wireless operator and participated on 67 of their aerial victories, one of which Richter achieved with the onboard machine gun.
