Joan Weeks and Gary Mansfield won gold in the enterprising reporting (radio) category for "Overdosing on Crime", their series looking at the connection between drug addiction and crime in Cape Breton.
Personal life
Weeks lives in Nova Scotia with her husband Dr. Richard MacKinnon and three of her children. She has written a book, One God One Aim One Destiny: African Nova Scotians in Cape Breton, published by Cape Breton University.
