Jahanian (Also spelled Jehanian), (Urdu: جہانیاں) is a tehsil of Khanewal District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is 30 minutes drive from Khanewal (28 km) and 45 minutes drive from Multan (42 km). It is the headquarters of Jahanian Tehsil a sub-division of the district name. The town is located at the crossroads of the Khanewal–Lodhran National Highway (N-5A), and the Multan–Delhi Grand Trunk Road. It is situated at 416 feet above sea level. Its climate is dry and hot in the daytime, but nights are usually pleasant.

Language and history
Maajhi (Standard) and Multani dialects of Punjabi language are spoken in the city. Jahanian has a rich history. It is believed that Alexander the Great left some traces during the conquest of this area and that Muhammad Bin Qasim, the first Muslim invader of the sub-continent passed through the area.
The name may be derived from the saint Makhdoom Jalal-ud-Din Jahanian Jahangasht Soherwardi (R.A); whose place of sitting still exists at Basti Peer Jahanian where a fair (Urs) is held every year and whose shrine is at Din pur Muzaffar Garh. One of the first settler was Syed sardar ali shah Mashhadi in 1916.
Jahanian is inhabited by Cheema, Saroya, Wahla, Randhawa, Gill, Qaisrani Baloch,Maitla and other subcastes of Jatt clans and Arain clan are the clans in the tehsil.Wahla, Randhawa, Gill are the Powerful clans of Tehsil . Currently Abdul Waheed Cheema, Karam Dad Wahla, Khalid Randhawa,Dr.Iqbal Saroya ,Captain Asad Iqbal Gill are representing their families respectively. Malik Arshad Hussain Maitla 3 time elected (Ex-MPA) from Jahania is the pioneer of maitla families politics in Jahanian his uncle (ex MNA) Malik Ghulam Murtaza maitla Also remained district Khanewal chairman MNA and MPA . Apart from them Mr.Chaudhary Zafarullah Wahla
(Ex-MNA), Mr. Abdur Rehman Wahla (Ex-MNA)& his son Dr.Fazal Daad Wahla (Ex-MNA). Currently Mr.Karam Dad Wahla -MPA-N is representing at Provincial Assembly (Punjab Assembly) and Mr.Iftikhar Nazir MNA-N) at National Assembly. Wahla Stadium was named after Mr.Abdul Rehman Wahla in commemoration of his social services.
Education
The main educational institutions of Jahanian are Govt. Model High School Jahanian, Govt Islamia High School Jahanian, Govt Girls High School Jahanian, Govt degree boys college and Govt degree college for girls. The prominent villages of tehsil Jahania are chak khayara,99/10r,109/10.R, 111/10.R,112/10R 106/10R, 118/10-R, 150/10r and 114/10.R .
Transport
There is a railway station and a public bus stand. People rely mostly on public station van-type transport. As Jahanian is situated at the National Highway (N5-A) bypass, people can easily get conveyance all of the time during day and night. From this bypass, passengers can go to Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sadiqabad, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Karachi.
City life
Jahanian is an agriculture-oriented area. The old city of Jahanian was planned on a similar pattern to New York City in 1919. It is divided into seven main blocks. Most people are small traders, sole proprietors and business people. Others are employed in private and public sectors. It is also an important trading center of the area, known for its cotton and oil-seed mills
It has a municipal committee, THQ hospital, veterinary hospital, NSRC office, passport office and a civil court.
The town itself has about one hundred thousand residents. In the sub-division (tehsil) of which it is administrative capital are 180 villages with populations ranging from 500 to 5,000.

Shrines
Jehanian is famous due to having some shrines, and Makhdoom Rasheed is a famous due to having shrines of the ancestors of Makdoom Javed Hashmi.
