Demography

According to the 1998 census of Pakistan, its population was 2,214. Most of the population belongs to the Rajput, Arain and Jatt clans alongside the Gujjar and Pashtun.

Most people living here speak Hindko often referred to as Punjabi as well as Pahari, Pashto and other languages and do not associate with Mirpur District. Culture, dialect and way of life is a reflection of Pothohar, (Attock, Gujar Khan, etc.) this can be seen upon entering the areas and has been influenced due to the close distance connecting the region. A sizeable population of Afghan and Pakistani Pashtuns are also found here and many other clans also reside here.

Families from here have migrated to England, Norway, Arab countries and many other countries as well as regular travel to and from Islamabad, and other Northern places. Gujjar are a predominant clan in this location ; the Gujjar are a Hindkowan tribe, originally from Afghanistan and other parts of Northern Pakistan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Hazara, and a minority are from Northern India. The some peoples are migrated from occupied Kashmir and have a majority calld MUHAJAR they are well settled in Gorsian Ghelan Jatlan AbduPur Saler Bhimber Mirpur KHari Shareef
