James Baugh "Sunny Jim" Mallory III was an American football coach and baseball player in the United States. He attended the University of North Carolina.

Coaching career

Mallory was the head college football coach for the Elon Phoenix located in Elon, North Carolina. He held that position for 5 seasons, from 1948 until 1952. His coaching record at Elon was 28 wins, 18 losses and 3 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2013 season, this ranks him #10 at Elon in total wins and #8 at the school in winning percentage (.602).

He died in 2001.
