Isabel Glasser

Isabel Glasser (born May 1, 1958) is an American actress who appeared in many Hollywood movies and TV shows. She hit to fame with the romantic blockbuster movie Pure Country in 1992 where she was seen opposite George Strait who played a rockstar in the film. Her career skyrocketed to success after the musical drama gained record breaking numbers at the box office.  She garnered immense praise for her role in the film.

She went on to grab bigger projects in the American film industry some of the major projects being Forever Young opposite Mel Gibson in the same year i.e 1992 followed by Mother in 1996. She was also seen portraying the role of an overprotective mother in Kelsey Mulrooney starrer Second Chances in 1998. Isabel once again impressed the critics and the audience with her performance in the film. 

Isabel took a break from the big screen for almost eight long years. She was, however still active in the television industry.  She made a stellar comeback on the silver screen with Rutger Hauer and Mathew Davis starrer Mentor in 2006. Though she played a really small role in the film, her fans were delighted to have her back on the big screens. Owing to her small yet remarkable filmography, Isabel also landed a role in television one of the longest running and popular series, the Law & Order franchise.

As far as Isabel's love life is concerned, she has always kept her relationship under wraps. But reports were rife that Isabel was dating her Forever Young co-star Mel Gibson for a couple of years. She was also rumored to be dating her Law and Order co-star Harley Venton. She is a single mother of two children Bella and Alex.

Isabel Glasser's phenomenal achievements and talent were not just confined to the silver screens. She made her mark in the television world as well. She has been a part of some of the most loved and prime time TV shows in America like Loving. It was Isabel's debut show on television than ran for over 3 years. She has also been a part of several other popular TV series like True Blue in 1990  NYPD Blue in 1994. 

Beyond her roles in romantic narratives, Isabel embraced the stern and authoritative guise of an army officer in "The Pretender," where she depicted a lieutenant.

Isabel's character in the film reflects both determination towards love and family as well her loyalty towards her self-respect. The way she takes a stand for herself and dumps Dusty after she was told that he was married to other woman and she doubted him to be cheating on her speaks of the strength of the character. In an interview to a leading daily, Isabel Glasser once spoke about how she played the role of a rockstar's lover in the film and said, “I tried to make it as easygoing an experience as I could.” She further added that “I felt like the more relaxed we were with each other, the more fun we had as actors, the easier it would be for the characters to fall into the relationship that they needed to find.” Isabel garnered immense praise for her performance in the film.
