Irina Lankova (born September 11, 1977) is a Belgian concert pianist. She has been described in the international press as a pianist with a “genuinely poetic touch" and an “infinite palette of colours”.

Early life

Lankova was born in Russia. Graduated with highest honours from Gnessin Music School in Moscow and from Brussels’ Royal Conservatory, she studied with great pianists such as Lev Naumov, Vladimir Tropp and Evgeny Moguilevsky. She has also received personal musical guidance from Vladimir Ashkenazy.

In 2008, Irina Lankova was invited to join the worldwide piano elite ‘Steinway Artists’.

Irina Lankova recorded several awarded albums: Rachmaninov, Liszt, Scriabin, Chopin and Schubert. She collaborates with modern composers, such as Nimrod Borenstein, playing several World Premiers. Since 2013, Irina Lankova plays in duet with violinist Tatiana Samouil. Together, they recorded an album ‘Caprice’.

Irina Lankova is invited to play in many international festivals: Beloeil, Classissimo and Musique 3 in Belgium, Fortissimo in Orleans, Académie d’Eté de Nice, Festival of Yuri Bashmet, Berlin Festival and Sagra Musicale Umbria. She performs in prestigious concert halls such as Flagey in Brussels, Wigmore Hall in London, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Französischer Dom in Berlin and Cidades das Artes in Rio.

Inspired by others arts and always in search for new ways of presenting the classical music, Irina Lankova develops personal multimedia projects. The first project ‘Goldberg Mirrors’ first took place in Brussels’ Cathedral St Michel & Gudule in 2014 and has been reproduced in Französischer Dom in Berlin in 2015.

Irina Lankova is also producer of concerts in Belgium and France, she lectures on classical music and popularise it through various appearances and collaborations.
