The Indonesian Community Shield is a pre-season football competition held the week before the season begins in Indonesia every year. It is contested by the winners of the Indonesia Super League/Indonesian Premier League and Piala Indonesia in the previous season, as a curtain raiser to the new season.

Contents

If the same team wins both Indonesian League and Piala Indonesia, then the Community Shield is contested by the League winner and the Piala Indonesia runner-up.

Piala Indonesia was not held in 2011, 2013, and 2014 so that there is no Indonesian Community Shield held for the season.

Piala Presiden Soeharto era (amateur competition)

The competition was followed by four best clubs from Perserikatan and also the title holder.

Piala Utama era (amateur & semi-professional competition)

The competition was followed by four best clubs from Perserikatan and four clubs from Galatama. In the inaugural season in 1985 Galatama send seven best clubs and Perserikatan just send the champions club.
