State Highway 46 (SH 46) is a state highway in southern Idaho from Interstate 84 (I-84) to U.S. Route 20 (US 20).

Route description

State Highway 46 begins in Gooding County at a diamond interchange with I-84 (exit 157) at an approximate elevation of 3,400 feet (1,040 m) above sea level. Heading due north as Idaho Street into Wendell, it later intersects US 26 at a traffic signal at the south end of Gooding, and passes through the city as Main Street.

SH 46 continues north through the high desert to traverse the Mount Bennett Hills and enters Camas County. It passes west of McHan Reservoir and reaches its maximum elevation of 5,635 feet (1,718 m) at the summit of Johnson Hill. After descending over 500 feet (150 m), it turns northwest and then due north through farmland. Its northern terminus is at US 20, four miles (6.4 km) east of Fairfield at an approximate elevation of 5,030 feet (1,530 m).
