Hope Foye (Francis Hope Wainwright) is an American folk singer. She performed with, amongst others, Pete Seeger, Paul Robeson and The Weavers (indeed she was once described as the "fifth" Weaver). She also performed in the musical, Bob Fosse's first, Dance Me a Song, in which she premiered the now famous song Lilac Wine. Foye suffered under the McCarran Committee and as a result left the US for a career in Mexico and Europe.
