The national rugby union teams of England and Italy have been playing each other in Test rugby since 1991, and by February 2016, they had met in 22 test matches, all of which have been won by England.

Their first meeting was on 8 October 1991 in the 1991 Rugby World Cup, England won 36 - 6. England have played Italy three times in Rugby World Cups, once in a Rugby World Cup qualifier at Huddersfield and once in an Autumn International, prior to them joining the Six Nations Championship. Italy's inclusion into the Six Nations Championship in 2000 has ensured regular meetings between the sides.

England have dominated the matches between the sides despite some excellent, spirited displays by Italy, who have yet to register their first win or draw in the fixture.

The most recent match between the two sides ended in a 40-9 victory for England in Rome during the 2016 Six Nations Championship.

In the World Cup, the teams have played each other on three occasions, 1991, 1995 and 1999, with England winning all three; there have been no draws. In these games, England have scored 130 points, and Italy 33.

In the Six Nations (2000–present), England have played Italy on 18 occasions, England winning all 18, Italy with no wins and there have been no Draws. In these games, England have scored 711 points, and Italy 221.

In other test matches, England have played Italy on two occasions, with England winning both. In these games, England have scored 77 points, and Italy 36.
