Hethel Old Thorn

Hethel Old Thorn is a 700-year-old tree which is the oldest hawthorn tree recorded in East Anglia. The tree is protected as a Norfolk Wildlife Trust nature reserve, which at 0.025 hectares (0.062 acres) is the smallest Wildlife Trust reserve in the United Kingdom. The reserve is located in the village of Hethel, 10 mi (16 km) from the county town of Norwich. The trunk of the tree once measured 12 ft (3.7 m) in circumference however it has since decreased.
