Henry Hollingsworth (1808-1855) was a Democratic politician. He served as the Mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 1837 to 1839.

Early life

He was born in Nelson County, Virginia on August 18, 1808. He and a twin sister, Mary Ann, were probably the only children born to William and Fanny Hollingsworth. He moved to Nashville with his parents in his boyhood.

Career

He served in the Seminole Wars. From 1837 to 1839, he served as Mayor of Nashville.

Personal life

in 1837, he married Eliza O’Brien , but she died two years later at the age of 21 . He remarried to a widow, Mrs. Anna Bell Dozier Stump. Hollingsworth died on January 24, 1855.
