Although she illustrated a relatively limited number of books, her work is considered classical. According to the article "The turbine 'Patria' of the Rotterdam Lloyd" in the journal Nederlandsch Indië Oud & Nieuw 4 (1919–1920) 8, December 1919, 227–256, Willbeek le Mair made wall decorations of the nursery on 'Patria'.
