Henan Mongol Autonomous County

Wylie: rma-lho sog-rigs rang-skyong-khul) is an autonomous county in the south of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the province of Qinghai, China. Its administrative seat ("capital") is the town of Yêgainnyin (Youganning). Henan has an area of 6.250 km² and approximately 30,000 inhabitants (2004). The Mongols or Upper Mongols, the overwhelming majority of the inhabitants of the county, do not speak Mongolian (with relatively few exceptions) and speak primarily Tibetan and Putonghua Chinese. Population percentages by ethnic group given below are based on government-issued identification cards and not necessarily how the population of this area would identify their ethnicity.
