Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Arabic: جامعة حمد بن خليفة) is a public university located within Education City in Doha, the capital city of Qatar. Founded in 2010, the university is a member of the Qatar Foundation, and began graduating students in 2014. It was named after Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Emir of Qatar (1995-2013).

    On May 1, 2016, HBKU graduated 111 students from the Class of 2016. 55% of the class was Qatari, while the whole class includes students from 29 different countries. The ceremony was attended by 700 people, including H.H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, who graduated from the class herself last year. 52 of the graduates are from HBKU's Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies (QFIS), 43 from the College of Science and Engineering, and 16 from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

    The guest speaker was tech entrepreneur Habib Haddad.
