Location

It is located at the crossing point of Khurai-Bina and Khurai–Khimlasha roads. Gyanodaya spreads over 5.2 acres (21,000 m2) of land, out of 13 acres (53,000 m2) of total land in the possession of the S. P. Jain Gurukul trust.

Founder

Gyanodaya was established in 1989. It competed with Holy Family Convent Sr. Secondary School, Khurai, which was the only English medium school of the city since 1976. The seeds of the kindergarten school were sown by the late Shrimanth Seth Rishabha Kumar.

Infrastructure

The school possesses 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land with a built up area of 4500 square meters and play grounds of 16500 square meters. The premises has 33 classrooms, five rooms for labs, four rooms for offices and three rooms for other usage. There is a separate kids’ room for play way teaching to the junior most students. The school has a Biology lab, Chemistry lab, Physics lab, Mathematics lab and Computer lab having 20 computers with internet facilities. The library has 7000 books, 8 periodicals and dailies, over 500 reference books and 18 magazines.

Activities

The multipurpose Nayakan Hall has two badminton courts, and room for table tennis, chess, carrom, yoga, sketting, cultural activities and theater with a capacity of 2000 people. There is an outdoor sports complex Sports divisions are formed for physical activities, games and sports. Students participate in CBSE sports clusters. Debates, extempore, symposiums, lectures, elocutions, drawing competitions, writing competitions, rakhee and rangoli making competition etc. are organized. Cultural programmes are performed on Kshma Vani and Annual day. Educational trips and picnics are part of the practical learning.

Scholarships

The students can be given scholarships from CBSE and other institutions. The Krishi Pandit Shrimant Seth Rishabh Kumar ji Memorial Scholarship is provided by the school president Mr. Dharmendra Seth. The scholarship is provided up to 50% of the development fund by the school in which girls and less privileged classes are given weightage.
