Club career

Kashia started playing for FC Dinamo Tbilisi. He is still a big fan of his former club.

In 2010, Kashia moved to The Netherlands and signed for Vitesse. Kashia soon became a regular member of the starting line-up of the club and two seasons after joining, Kashia was elected as the captain of the club. Kashia was later joined by his two compatriots Valeri Kazaishvili and Giorgi Chanturia in Vitesse.

The success of Kashia with his new club led to some speculations towards the interest of numerous European teams in signing him. In 2013, he declared that some German, English and Russian clubs were interested in signing him, including Sunderland and Aston Villa. The agent of the player, former PSV Eindhoven and Twente midfielder Giorgi Gakhokidze later confirmed that R.S.C. Anderlecht were close to signing the Georgian, but the deal wasn't materialized. However, later Vitesse denied this.

In August 2015, Kashia was named as Best Player of August in Eredivisie. Two months later, Kashia decided to stay with the club and extended the deal with Vitesse until 2020.
In 2017, Kashia won its first ever trophy with Vitesse, after defeating AZ Alkmaar in the final of the Dutch Cup.

Kashia made his Georgia debut on 1 April 2009 against Montenegro. In October 2012, he scored the only goal in the national team against Finland in 2014 World Cup qualifier.
