Gregory F. Lavelle is an American politician and a Republican member of the Delaware Senate since January 8, 2013 representing District 4. Lavelle has served in the Delaware General Assembly continuously since 2001, in the Delaware House of Representatives until 2013.
Lavelle earned his BS in business administration from the University of Delaware and his MS in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
2012 Challenging Democratic Senator Michael S. Katz, Lavelle was unopposed for the September 11, 2012 Republican Primary and won the three-way November 6, 2012 General election with 11,970 votes (50.8%) against Katz and Libertarian candidate Marcia Davinci Groff.
2000 When Republican Representative Catherine Cloutier ran for the Delaware Senate District 5 seat and left the House District 11 seat open, Lavelle won the three-way September 9, 2000 Republican Primary with 1,132 votes (50.7%), and won the November 7, 2000 General election with 6,090 votes (64.3%) against Democratic nominee Steven Biener.
2002 Lavelle was unopposed for the September 10, 2002 Republican Primary and won the November 5, 2002 General election with 4,961 votes (65.7%) against Democratic nominee Michael Paul.
2004 Lavelle was unopposed for both the September 11, 2004 Republican Primary and the November 2, 2004 General election, winning with 7,702 votes.
2006 Lavelle was unopposed for the September 12, 2006 Republican Primary and won the November 7, 2006 General election with 4,635 votes (58.0%) against Democratic nominee Eric Levin.
2008 Lavelle was unopposed for the September 9, 2008 Republican Primary and won the November 4, 2008 General election with 6,731 votes (63.3%) against Democratic nominee Charles Old.
2010 Lavelle was unopposed for the September 17, 2010 Republican Primary and won the November 2, 2010 General election, winning with 5,198 votes (61.0%) against Democratic nominee Joshua Schoenberg.
