Government Senior Secondary School,Central Pendam (also known as Tikalal Niroula Senior Secondary School) is a government,co-educational, English medium school situated at Central Pendam in East District of Sikkim, India. It was established in 1942. The school prepares students for AISSE and AISSCE for Science, Commerce, Humanities, IT Application and Financial Marketing and Management. The School currently runs from Pre-Primary to Standard XII.

History
Government Senior Secondary School, Central Pendam, East Sikkim was established in 1942 as a committee school. Till 1953 it remained as M.E. School. Then after it was upgraded as Junior High School in 1956 and 1957. School started running its class IX in 1959. First Batch of Class X appeared for their school final examination as Private Candidates in 1961. After a giant leap this school was recognised as High School by CBSE,New Delhi in 1976. With the sincere effort and perseverance of founder members and some local educationists the first batch of X appeared for their AISSE under CBSE in 1977 from their home center. In 1985 it was upgraded to Senior Secondary School with streams like Science and Humanities. In 2004 the school was upgraded with Commerce Stream with the streams like IT and FMM added in 2011. The school situated on the top of the hills,Central pendam Senior Secondary school Was Founded by some of the great personalities of central pendam like Kula nanda Dhungel, Bhakta Bir Poudyal, Tikalal Niroula Chandra Pd. Dhungel, Bala Bhadra Khatiwara and others. The land and useful items were donated by DhanJit Bishwakarma, Bhakta Bir Poudyal and so on. The first Principal of Senior Secondary Pendam School Was Mr B. S. Rajput. When CPSSS became Sr. Sec. School Students around East District Came here for admission in school. Till 2011 CPSSS has gained lots and lots of achievements, in so this school stands in top rated school of Sikkim, the village has become literate to large extent. Nowadays the school is named after Tikalal Niroula and it is named as Tikalal Niroula Sr. Sec School.
