Golden State, 1913

Golden State was a 3-masted schooner built in the W.F. Stone yard in Oakland, California in 1913.

Golden State caught fire in the Atlantic Ocean off Pensacola, Florida, on 18 February 1922 and was abandoned. She was towed into Pensacola in a capsized state on 23 February 1922. She subsequently was righted, repaired, and returned to service.

Golden State was laid up in Long Beach, California, in 1937 after being used in movies. She was sold in Costa Rica in 1943.

Golden State, former William F. Garms

A photograph from the John Oxley Library, State Library of Queensland, shows another three-masted ship of this name, the former William F. Garms, with dimensions of 215.5 × 40.7 × 16, built in 1901.
