Gokuldham High School & Jr. College was founded on 2 July 1983. Making a humble beginning in a rented premises with 3 students and 5 staff members, the school has now grown into a multi-storey structure with more than 5,000 students and 200 staff members. It is designed to accommodate a volume of 3,688 students

Building

The spacious school building has five storeys with 44 well- lit and well- ventilated classrooms. Apart from this, school has 5 halls to cater to the needs of our budding artists and artistes. To enhance the scientific temperament of students, school has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Keeping in mind the requirement of the day, they have two compact Computer Laboratories with adequate computers to serve the entire school. The School Auditorium is a huge hall fitted with a good sound system to conduct co-curricular activities.

Playground

Understanding the importance of energizing the body of a child along with educating his mind, school provides ample opportunities for our students to play games like football, handball and cricket on our well-set playground.

Library

The aura of knowledge blossoms and spreads with adequate and apt reading skills. To quench the thirst of our young literary minds, school has an exemplary library spread over an area of 2,034 sq. ft. with a great ambience. It treasures about 22,184 books, periodicals and magazines, suitable for school students.

Additional facilities

The school campus houses a state-of-the-art Swimming Pool, training students for various aquatic competitions. A wide range of Hobby Classes is conducted over the weekend to endow students with supplementary skills required for emerging a competent personality.

  • Admission process

    The academic session of the school is from March to April. The admission process begins in mid-March and the admission procedure, however, is done in the first week of May. This is to accommodate the students coming from the other boards too. Admission process is one and the same for all students and is purely on merit basis against vacancies available for each standard.

    Eligibility criteria

    A child seeking admission in Std. I must complete five years by 15 June of the year in which admission is sought. A child seeking admission in any other class must have passed the previous class from a recognized school and must produce the following supporting documents at the time of admission:

  • Marksheet: original and an attested copy
  • Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate countersigned from the concerned Education Department.
  • This is mandatory if the child is seeking admission from another state/board.

    Academic promotion rules

    The school holds two terminal examinations from Std. I to Std.VIII and three terminal examinations from Std IX to XII. Promotions are decided on the pupils performance over the year assessed at all the three examinations. A student should secure 40 % in English and 35% in each individual head of passing and on aggregate for promotion to higher standard. No Condonation marks will be given in English.
