Early life

McMillan was born in São João da Boa Vista, Brazil. He is the son of the Australian Peter McMillan with the Brazilian Heloisa Aguiar, he is the younger brother of Gabriela and Christiane. He moved to Australia with his family when he was three years old.

Glenn is of Irish descent from his Australian father. On the side of his Brazilian mother, he has Portuguese and German ancestry. He remains strongly in his Brazilian heritage, speaks fluently in Portuguese, and revisits his place of birth frequently.
Career

McMillan's first professional acting role was at age 11, in a State Theatre Company of South Australia production of Six Characters in Search of an Author, by Luigi Pirandello, playing the role of the "Young Boy".

In 1998, he played "Ben Handleman" in his first feature film, Sally Marshall Is Not an Alien, followed by the role of "Tiny Maloney" in the television series, 'Chuck Finn' for Seven Network in 1999. He has performed in numerous theatre productions, including the role of "Jack" in Into the Woods, by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, and "Vyasa" in the Mahabharata. McMillan played saxophone and bass in various jazz ensembles, including with Australian jazz legends James Morrison and Don Burrows. From 2002–2003, McMillan played the role of Dustin Brooks in Power Rangers Ninja Storm, filmed in New Zealand, then "Bronley Hale" in Zenon: Z3 for Disney Channel, shot on location in South Africa, and Power Rangers Dino Thunder.
In 2004, McMillan chose to take time away from acting to further his education. He was awarded a scholarship to study at Bond University, but chose to study law at the University of Adelaide Law School. McMillan undertook his third year of study at Pace University School of Law and graduated with Honours in 2008. He completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law, Sydney, and was admitted to the roll of Australian Lawyers in 2009. McMillan accepted a position in London with the law firm Carter-Ruck, specialising in media litigation, and completed his exams for qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales.
In 2012, McMillan appeared in the feature film Swerve (film), followed by the role of "Adauto Agallo" in the award-winning miniseries Mrs Biggs. From 2013 to 2015 he filmed the Australian television drama Wonderland for Network Ten, in which he played "Carlos dos Santos" while also undertaking his degree in Master of Laws majoring in Commercial Litigation.
Personal life
McMillan lives in Sydney, Australia. He trains and competes in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, having begun training in London under former world champion, Roger Gracie, and is currently a purple belt under Fabio Gurgel.
In 2016, he married Julia Alonso, a doctor from his town of birth in Brazil.
