George H. Buckstaff was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate.

Biography

Buckstaff was born on March 8, 1837 in Saint Patrick Parish, New Brunswick. During the American Civil War, he served with the 1st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment (3 Years) of the Union Army. He was wounded during the Battle of Chickamauga. On October 21, 1868, Buckstaff married Martha Murray. They would have three children.

Political career

Buckstaff was a member of the Assembly during the 1881 and 1882 sessions. He was elected to the Senate in 1886 from the 19th District. Previously, he was a member of the County Board of Winnebago County, Wisconsin in 1878 and 1879. Buckstaff was a Republican.
