A woman, hailing from Chitrakoot, alleged that Gayatri Prajapati had raped her 3 years back. Prajapati reportedly took her obscene photos and continued to rape her for two years under the threat of leaking those photos. He also molested her under the false promise of giving an important position in Samajwadi Party.
The victim approached the Uttar Pradesh police to file a complaint against Prajapati. However, the UP Police refused to file an FIR. The woman then approached Supreme Court which directed the police to lodge a report. Later in February, 2017 he went absconding. He was later arrested in Lucknow.
