Gan Peck Cheng (simplified Chinese: 颜碧贞; traditional Chinese: 顏碧貞; pinyin: Yán Bìzhēn) is a Malaysian politician. She is also the Johor state assemblywomen for Penggaram, Batu Pahat, Johor. She is a member of Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component of Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. She was elected as the Opposition Chief of the Johor State Legislative Assembly since 27 October 2015.

Personal life

She was born in Kampung Minyak Beku, Batu Pahat, Johor. She got her secondary education in Chinese High School Batu Pahat.

Career

Before she served as a state assemblywomen, she have been working as a kindergarten teacher.

Politics

She had contested in 1990 general election for the Pontian parliamentary constituency and since the 1995 general elections in the Penggaram state constituency and faced the failure until the 2013 general election where she had won the same state seat by defeating new face Dr King Ban Siang from Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) of Barisan Nasional (BN) with 10,051 majority votes.
