He founded his own label, Abfahrt Records, through which he released titles as Culture Beat, Die Schwarze Zone and Heute ist ein guter Tag zu sterben.

His greatest success was founding the project Culture Beat in 1989. The 1993 song "Mr Vain" topped the charts for several weeks in many European countries.

Death

On November 6, 1993 Torsten Fenslau was killed in an automobile accident in his Mercedes-Benz 500SL close to Messel in the vicinity of Darmstadt.
