Description
Forgotten Hope 2 is a modification of historical accuracy and realism. For example, every battle is environmentally and militarily as accurate as possible. Most maps are based off real life locations and terrains, to keep accuracy at its finest.

Forgotten Hope 2 (since version 2.25) includes Germany, the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Italy and the US armies. The Red Army came in update 2.5.
Forgotten Hope 2 features rank, medals, ribbons and badges since 2.4 Update. Forgotten Hope 2, however features censorship in war symbols like German swastika and the old cross of Finland.
Changes to the gameplay

In Forgotten Hope 2 soldiers die and vehicles are destroyed more easily. Similarly, medics cannot resuscitate dead soldiers back to life, unlike in Battlefield 2. Each soldier carries more equipment and in addition everyone carries one medical kit, which improves the survivability. If a player gets non-fatally shot, he is left to bleed and will die very quickly if he does not get medical treatment.
The update 2.25, added accurate ballistics to the majority of small calibre weapons. However, the standard deviation is maintained in other guns and when the player is shooting from the hip. This is different from the main game or from other modifications, if the shooter does not aim the scatter can be very large.
Game's tanks and weapons are also differentiated in their damage capabilities with different cannons and armor. For example, 9mm-caliber weapons do less damage than .45 -cal one, also an US Sherman tank has a distinct disadvantage against the German Panther. Maps have different amounts of tickets and vehicles in order to balance the gameplay.
Forgotten Hope 2's armored vehicles feature realistic optics and armor penetration. Poor main cannon performance or bad projectile angle may fail to penetrate or may even ricochet off the target.
The game also, unlike many Second World War games, has emphasis on realistic weapon distribution among the troops. This means that machine guns, submachine guns and anti-tank equipment is available to only a few players, while other players use standard infantry rifles. Special weapons such as flamethrowers, sniper rifles or tripod mounted machineguns have to be picked up on the battlefield. They have been hidden throughout the maps tactically in useful places. For example, sniper rifles can be found in tall buildings, such as church towers or even at main base along with heavy weapons.
Forgotten Hope 2 differs from Battlefield 2 graphically as well. The environments are more detailed and 3D models have better quality. The modification’s content is nearly all custom made, only a few objects from BF2 are found. Forgotten Hope 2 is one of Battlefield 2's visually most demanding modifications, and requires appropriate hardware to run smoothly.
Gameplay
The game is multiplayer-based with servers that can host up to 100 players simultaneously. There is also a singleplayer mode where players can play the multiplayer maps against computer players that take control of the soldiers who would otherwise be controlled by players. The maps have different layers depending on the players on the server 16, 32 and 64.
Gamemodes
Follows the conquest mode of Battlefield 2 with several modifications, now the flags must be captured in a predetermined order to ensure the formation of a front that moves as one of the two factions prevails. Flags that can be captured are marked by a green circle while those that can't are marked with a red X.
A gamemode with objectives, a faction assaults while the other defends the strategic objectives that can range from parked aircraft to ammo depots. The attacking faction's respawns are limited while the defending are not. When all the objectives of the defending faction are destroyed or the reinforcements of the attacking faction are over the game ends.

Infantry Classes
Forgotten Hope 2 has seven infantry classes. Each class has historically accurate weapons and kits that reflects the equipment of soldiers of the different nations at war; Each faction has its own specific weapons, diversified depending on the maps on which you are playing to reflect the historicity of armament. For example, in the maps until 1943 the German army will be equipped with Mauser 98K while on the maps set in 44 or 45 will be available with new Gewehr 43 rifles on a few selected spawn kits. The available classes are: Pichu, el comepepas
