Creation and designations

Compagnie Etrangère de Ravitaillement par Air, (C.E.R.A)

The Foreign Air Supply Company was an ephemeral unit of the French Foreign Legion which fought in the First Indochina War.

The foreign combat company (C.E.R.A) was created on January 1, 1951 from the Air Supply Company (C.R.A) from the Northern Airborbe Base (B.A.P.N). Stationed at Bac Mai, the foreign combat company was in charge of delivering logistical supply and was manned by 120 legionnaires and 70 autochthones.

Dissolved, the foreign combat company becomes on September 1, 1951, the Air Supply Company of the Viet Nam Land Forces (C.R.A/FTVN).

Insignias

The insignia of the Foreign Legion Paratroopers of France represents a closed <<winged armed dextrochere>>, meaning a "right winged arm" armed with a sword pointing upwards. The Insignia makes reference to the Patron of Paratroopers. In fact, the Insignia represents <<the right Arm of Saint Michael>>, the Archangel which according to Liturgy is the <<Armed Arm of God>>. This Insignia is the symbol of righteous combat and fidelity to superior missions.
