Filipe Augusto Carvalho Souza (born 12 August 1993), commonly known as Filipe Augusto or simply Filipe, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for S.C. Braga on loan from Rio Ave, as a defensive midfielder.

Club career
Born in Itambe, Bahia, Filipe joined EC Bahia's youth setup in 2009, aged 16. He was promoted to the main squad in 2012 by manager Paulo Roberto Falcao, and renewed his link with the club in February 2012, signing until 2014.
Filipe made his professional debut on 29 February 2012, replacing Magno Cruz in a 5–1 home rout over Camacari, for the Campeonato Baiano championship. He appeared in two further matches during the tournament, as the Tricolor were crowned champions.
On 18 June 2012, Filipe moved to Primeira Liga side Rio Ave F.C., for a € 2.2 million fee. He made his debut for the club on 18 August, starting in a 0–1 home loss against C.S. Maritimo.
On 1 September 2014 Filipe joined La Liga side Valencia CF in a season-long loan deal. He made his debut in the competition on 22 September 2014, replacing Dani Parejo in the 80th minute of a 3–0 away win against Getafe CF 22 September 2014.

International career
In 2012, Filipe appeared with the Brazil under-20's in 2012 Eight Nations Cup. He was also named in the provisional 27-men squad for the 2013 South American Youth Championship, but was one of the four players cut from the final list.
