Fergusson Intermediate is a state co-educational intermediate school in the city of Upper Hutt, in the Wellington region of New Zealand. The school's classes are mixed, which means that both Year 7's and Year 8's are included in one class. Although not the official motto, the phrase used most frequently to encapsulate the ethos of the school is "High Expectations for All".

History

Fergusson Intermediate was opened in 1966 by Sir Bernard Fergusson, then New Zealand's Governor General, and it is from his Clan that the school's Latin motto originates.

Syndicates

The school is divided into 3 syndicates. In 2016 classrooms 1, 2, 3, 4 make up Syndicate A; rooms 5, 6, 7 & 8 make up Syndicate B; and rooms 9, 10, 11 & 12 make up Syndicate C.

Building Work

The school is in the midst of a large building project, rebuilding all the classrooms, tech rooms, and library. All three new classroom blocks have been in use since September 2011.
