Famous in Love is an upcoming American drama television series based on the book with the same name, written by Rebecca Serle. Alongside I. Marlene King, Serle & King developed the novel into a television series starring Bella Thorne, to premiere on April 18, 2017 on Freeform.
ABC Family, the previous name for Freeform, had picked up the pilot for fast-track development on March 19, 2015. The pilot was shot in November 2015; Freeform greenlit the pilot on April 7, 2016, and shooting began on July 13 and wrapped on October 18, 2016. Freeform announced on November 18, 2016 that the series would premiere on April 18, 2017.
Paige Townsen, an ordinary college student, gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster. She must now navigate her new star-studded life and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads while uncovering the truth about what happened to a famous missing popstar.
Cast and characters
Bella Thorne portrays Paige Townsen. A young unknown, college student, who gets cast in the movie adaptation of a blockbuster book series, her life changes practically overnight. Within a month, Paige has traded the quiet streets of her hometown for a crowded movie set on the shores of Maui.
Carter Jenkins portrays Rainer Devon. An actor who finds himself in complications with Jordan when the two share feelings for Paige.
Keith Powers portrays Jordan Wilder. A "troubled star", who lands the role of the other point in the movie's famous love triangle. He and Rainer have a complicated history, which is further heightened by the fact that both share chemistry with Paige.
Charlie DePew portrays Jake Salt. A down-to-earth guy from the Midwest with an edge who aspires to be a screenwriter/indie filmmaker. DePew replaced Jesse Henderson in the role from the original pilot.
Niki Koss portrays Alexis Glenn. Rainer's old friend, who competes for the same role as Paige, and also holds a secret.
Georgie Flores portrays Cassandra Perkins. Paige's roommate and close friend.
Perrey Reeves portrays Nina Devon. Rainer's smart and cunning mother, who is half of one of Hollywood's most powerful couples. Confident and manipulative, she will do whatever it takes to make sure things go her way.
Pepi Sonuga portrays Tangey Turner. A beautiful popstar, who mysteriously disappears from the public eye, and was previously romantically connected with both Jordan and Rainer.
Mark Valley portrays Grant Devon. Rainer's father, and a massive figure in Hollywood.
Katelyn Tarver portrays Rachel Davis. An actress from New York City who causes some drama for Alexis.
