Euphaedra medon, the widespread forester, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Senegal, the Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. The habitat consists of forests and riverine vegetation.

The larvae feed on Phialodiscus unijugatus, Deinbollia fulvotomentella, Paullinia pinnata, Phialodiscus zambesiacus and Allophylus species
