Plot

While Leonard is playing fetch with Spot, his mother informs him to keep a close eye on Spot while she's out borrowing broccoli from a neighbor for dinner. In the time she's out, Spot goes into his special persona and they both go out for Ice Cream. When they return home, Mrs. Helperman is upset with Leonard because it seems that Spot has left the front yard and is now lost. Scott pretends that his mother is calling for him and runs off screen to takeoff his clothes and to come back running in as Spot. Relieved but concerned, Mrs. Helperman hires "Doggydine Protection", to which "TEK" (Patrick Warburton) installs a laser guarded protective fence around the house and places a "Doggydine Detector Collar" on Spot. If triggered, it'll released a pungent smell to animals that'll drive them back to the house (that being month old mu shu pork). This makes Spot realize since he's stuck at home, he won't be able to go to school or achieve in other fields, but Leonard reassures him.

Leonard then asks his mother to tell him the code also in case of an emergency. She agrees, but makes him promise him that he won't use the code unless he has her okay, to which Leonard dejectedly agrees. Spot tries to rationalize that it'll work out since although Leonard can't put in the code, he could tell Spot so he can turn it off, but Leonard feels conflicted with his promise with his mother and has to leave before he's able to make a decision. At school, all Leonard can think and imagine about is Spot being stuck at home. Eventually he claims to his mom that he's not feeling well and decides to head home. He arrives home and informs Spot that although the can't turn off the lasers, he can try to get the collar off of him so he won't be detected.

After several failed tries, Pretty Boy sarcastically tells him why doesn't he just simply fly over the fence, to which Spot thinks of a "brilliant" plan. Leonard, Pretty Boy, and Mr. Jolly try to lower Spot down over the other side of the fence with a latch, but after much bickering, they all end up falling near the lasers, which activates the pungent smell and alerts "Doggydine Protection". When his mother arrives home, she questions whey he's out of bed. Leonard informs her that he was trying to defend Spot. Seeing that this is not working out, Mrs. Helperman tells "TEK" that she will no longer be wanting their services anymore, to which "TEK" dejectedly agrees too. After releasing Spot from his collar, Leonard informs her mother that he's pretty sure that Spot won't try to run away again as he and Mrs. Helperman get an "ice pop" for him and Spot. As they leave, Spot suddenly smells rancid pork again as he breaks into hysterical laughter after noticing that Pretty Boy and Mr. Jolly are causing the smell due to being sprayed earlier.
