Ernesto Enrique Baca is an assistant secretary-general at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York. He is the director of the Enterprise Resource Planning Project, named "Umoja" ("unity" in Swahili). This project is aimed to implement a major administration reform initiative across the many UN Secretariat offices and departments.

He was appointed to this position by the United Nations Secretary-General in August 2012.
Career
Prior to this appointment, he was the chief information officer and director of administration at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), based in Rome, Italy.
Before joining the WFP, he collected extensive experience in the private sector in information technology, marketing and general management, including a 14 years career at IBM Argentina and IBM Americas/Far East Headquarters, based in Mount Pleasant, New York.
He then accepted a senior executive position at Telecom Argentina, starting as the director of corporate strategy and marketing, to be finally promoted to chief operating officer.
From 2003 to 2006, he was the CEO of Telecarrier Inc., a leading provider of telecommunications and data center services in Central America, based in Panama.

He is married and has three children.
