The company was founded in 2009 by young entrepreneur Conor Guy who also holds business interests in the bathroom products and Web design industry. Envirogreen Recycling holds no association with Slough-based Hazardous Waste Firm Envirogreen Specialist Waste Services.
Mr. Guy was a runner-up for Belfast Telegraph N.Ireland Young Businessperson of the Year 2010

The company has participated in several innovative initiatives, including working closely with Quinn Group. Together they have achieved a recycling rate of 93% of all packaging stemming from the production processes within the Quinn Group. The remainder of non recyclable waste is sent for Refuse-derived fuel, a more environmentally friendly alternative to landfill.
Carbon Reduction Reporting
Envirogreen Recycling is the first waste management company in Ireland to introduce Carbon reduction reporting which allows its clients to see how much CO2 it has saved and the equivalent number of cars taken off the road by choosing recycling rather than landfill. Subsequently, Envirogreen Recycling was nominated for UTV All-Ireland Green Business of the Year in October 2010. The company was named runner up. Envirogreen Recycling was awarded All-Ireland Green Service Initiative of the Year on 10 December 2010. The company has also been named Best Green Business in Northern Ireland at the Ulster Bank Awards 2011.
