The Edel Excel is a South Korean single-place, paraglider that was designed and produced by Edel Paragliders of Gwangju. It is now out of production.
Design and development
The Excel was designed as an advanced and competition glider. It can be fitted with thin cross-section lines to reduce drag for competition flying.
The models are each named for their relative size.
Excel S
Small-sized model for mlight-weight pilots. Its 11.89 m (39.0 ft) span wing has a wing area of 23.79 m
2 (256.1 sq ft), 63 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.93:1. The pilot weight range is 70 to 90 kg (154 to 198 lb). The glider model is DHV 2-3 and AFNOR Competition certified.
Excel L
Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 13.12 m (43.0 ft) span wing has a wing area of 29.09 m
2 (313.1 sq ft), 63 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.93:1. The pilot weight range is 95 to 125 kg (209 to 276 lb). The glider model is DHV 2-3 and AFNOR Competition certified.
