Stage drama career
Marapana started his acting career through stage dramas in her early days and then proceed to play in many major roles in stage dramas. Her most notable dramas are Sapathmee, Swarnamali, Katu Yahana, Sevanali Ha Minissu House of Bernarda Alba, and Upanda Maranaya. She currently appears in her own direction Lawrencege Manamali,. along with her husband Sujeewa Priyalal, who is also an actor and a director. The wedding was celebrated during the stage drama on 13 and 14 August 2015.
Television acting
In Sumathi Tele Awards, Marapana won the best actress award for the acting in Ridee Ittankaraya in 2010. After that, her most popular acting came through the character of Dingiri Amma on Malee and Aththamma teledramas which were telecasted on TV Derana. Some of her popular teledramas are Rathi Virathi, Sanda Amavakai, Eka Iththaka Mal,Rathriya, Depath Nai, Hima Katayam, Sudeera, Malee, Aththamma.
