Dugri has a Holy Gurudwara Damdama Sahib of Guru Nanak Dev ji and Guru Hargobind Sahib ji of sikhs and also Sheetla Mata Mandir. Dugri is also the birthplace of famous Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. It has both the Facilities of town as well as lovelyhood of a village.Now it is developing at very rapid speed, bunch of very good schools like sat paul mittal, ram bhasin, mgm, BCM etc. are now opened in dugri.

The village was under the rule of Panchayati Raj until 1996, administrated by village Sarpanch named late S.Bachittar singh badesha(Also remained president of gurudwara committee)

Major areas under the Dugri segment of Ludhiana are Urban Estate Phase 1, Urban Estate Phase 2, Himmat Singh Nagar, Nirmal Nagar.

History

Formed about 200 years ago, Dugri is situated on banks of Sidhwan canal. The area is predominated by the Jatt-Sikh people with other minorities. There are mainly two Jatt families, Badesha and Gill. The Badesha families came from Sarinh and Gill families from Gill villages. Hence Dugri has two parts known as Sarinh Patti and Gill Patti according to density of these two families.

Dugri possesses two Dharamshala and is also facilitated with the municipal water supply and sewage system.

Dugri also has a Govt. Primary school and K.S.Public senior secondary school (private)
