Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) established in 1998 is a private, autonomous, self-financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Anna University. The college has two hostels of which one is dedicated to women named Rukmaniammal Women's Hostel.
Students Guild of Service
One of the prominent feature of MCET is the SGS (Students Guild of Service) which students take the responsibility of organising all kind of events, symposiums, intra and inter college functions. The President, Vice President and other major posts are selected by interview by the faculty members.
