Returning from an emergency call, young Dr. Jimmy Kildare (Lew Ayres) and intern Donald Winthrop (Robert Sterling) stop to help an injured woman, who they recognize as society girl Cynthia "Cookie" Charles (Ann Ayars). Despite the fact that Cookies accident occurred in the district served by Emerson Hospital, Donald orders the driver to take her to their hospital. When the board of Emerson protests, a feud between the hospitals breaks out, with Jimmy and Donald caught in the middle.

Plot summary
Dr. Kildare (Lew Ayres) is involved in a dispute between two competing hospitals. The trouble begins when an intern rushes a beautiful girl to Kildares hospital. She has a shard of glass imbedded in her heart.
