Dilfirib Kadın (c. 1890 – c. 1952) was the fifth wife of Sultan Mehmed V of the Ottoman Empire.

Biography

Born in Istanbul in 1890, Dilfirib was a Circassian. At a very young age she was given to the palace for service where she received private education and training. She was very well educated and was interested in history. However, during her service Mehmed took notice of her and they married in 1907 in the Veliahd Palace. In 1916 she also received the medal of Nişanını ihsan.

After Sultan Mehmed’s death in 1918, she remained in the palace for some time and after moving in her villa located in Erenköy she remarried again to a doctor with whom she had an issue, a son. Long after settling in her mansion located in Vaniköy, she died of cancer in the year, 1952 in Istanbul and was also buried there.
