In 2011, while serving as a legislative aide, DiZoglio was identified as the woman involved in an alleged sex scandal with then Braintree Representative Mark Cusack. Cusack and DiZoglio were found in the House Chamber with an unidentified staff member by State House security after a party in a nearby office. Cusack, who gave a false name to authorities, and DiZoglio were discovered in the middle of unspecified activities and were reported to the Speaker's office.

Speaker Robert DeLeo’s office conducted a brief investigation during which it was determined that no laws or house rules had been broken. While Ms. DiZoglio was exonerated of wrongdoing, allegations regarding her sexual misconduct continued, and she resigned from her position as Legislative Aide at the State House in September 2011. On running for the position of State Representative following the Cusack allegations, DiZoglio said, “I went through a literally life-ruining experience.
