Diamond Harbour subdivision is a subdivision of the South 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Diamond Harbour municipality and nine community development blocks: Diamond Harbour–I, Diamond Harbour–II, Falta, Kulpi, Magrahat–I, Magrahat–II, Mandirbazar, Mathurapur–I and Mathurapur–II. The nine blocks contain two census towns and 99 gram panchayats. The subdivision has its headquarters at Diamond Harbour.

Area

Apart from the Diamond Harbour municipality, the subdivision contains two census towns and rural areas of 99 gram panchayats under nine community development blocks: Diamond Harbour–I, Diamond Harbour–II, Falta, Kulpi, Magrahat–I, Magrahat–II, Mandirbazar, Mathurapur–I and Mathurapur–II. The two census towns are: Uttar Kalas and Bilandapur.

Diamond Harbour–I block

Rural area under Diamond Harbour–I block consists of eight gram panchayats, viz. Basuldanga, Derak, Mashat, Bolsiddhi Kalinagar, Harindanga, Netra, Kanpur Dhanaberia and Parulia. There is no urban area under this block. Diamond Harbour police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Diamond Harbour.

Diamond Harbour–II block

Rural area under Diamond Harbour–II block consists of eight gram panchayats, viz. Bhadura Haridas, Khordo, Patra, Kalatalahat, Mathur, Sarisa, Kamarpol and Nurpur. There is no urban area under this block. Diamond Harbour And Ramnagar police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Sarisa.

Falta block

Rural area under Falta block consists of 13 gram panchayats, viz. Banganagar–I, Chaluari, Gopalpur, Noyapukuria, Banganagar–II, Debipur, Harindanga–I, Belsingha–I, Falta, Harindanga–II, Belsingha–II, Fatepur and Mallikpur. There is no urban area under this block. Falta police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Chaberia.

Kulpi block

Rural area under Kulpi block consists of 14 anchal panchayats, viz. Baburmahal, Gajipur, Keoratala, Ramkrishnapur, Belpukur, Iswaripur, Kulpi, Ramnagar–Gazipur, Chandipur, Kamarchak, Rajarampur, Dhola, Karanjali and Ramkishore. There is no urban area under this block. Kulpi police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Paschim Gopalnagar.

Magrahat–I block

Rural area under Magrahat–I block consists of 11 gram panchayats, viz. Yearpur, Lakshmikantapur, Shrichanda, Uttarkusum, Ektara, Rangilabad, Sirakol, Hariharpur, Kalikapota, Sherpur and Usthi. There is no urban area under this block. Usthi police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Usthi.

Magrahat–II block

Rural area under Magrahat–II block consists of 14 gram panchayats, viz. Amratala, , Magrahat Paschim, Nainan, Dhamua Dakshnin, Gokarni, Magrahat Purba, Urelchandpur, Dhamua Uttar, Hotor Morjada, Mohanpur, Dhanpota, Jugdia and Multi. Urban area under this block consists of two census towns: Uttar Kalas and Bilandapur. Usthi and Magrahat police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is in Magrahat. Dihikalas

Mandirbazar block

Rural area under Mandirbazar block consists of ten gram panchayats, viz. Anchna, Nisapur, Ghateswar, Krishnapur, South Bishnupur, Dhanurhat, Jagadishpur, Chandpur-Chaitanyapur, Gabberia and Kecharkur. There is no urban area under this block. Mandirbazar police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Mandirbazar.

Mathurapur–I block

Rural area under Mathurapur–I block consists of ten gram panchayats, viz. Abad Bhagawanpur, Krishnachandrapur, Mathurapur Purba, Uttar Lakshminarayanpur, Dakshin Laksminarayanpur, Lalpur, Nalua, Mathurapur Paschim, Shankarpur and Debipur. There is no urban area under this block. Mathurapur police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Mathurapur.

Mathurapur–II block

Rural area under Mathurapur–II block consists of 11 gram panchayats, viz. Dighirpar–Bakultala, Kankandighi, Kumrapara, Radhakantapur, Gilarchhat, Kasinagar, Nagendrapur, Raidighi, Kautala, Khari and Nandakumarpur. There is no urban area under this block. Raidighi police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Baribhangabad.

Legislative segments

As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies in West Bengal, the area under Kulpi block will constitute the Kulpi assembly constituency of West Bengal. The Mathurapur–II block and six gram panchayats under the Mathurapur–I block, viz. Abad Bhagawanpur, Debipur, Krishnachandrapur, Lalpur, Shankarpur and Nalua, will together form the Raidighi assembly constituency. The other four gram panchayats under the Mathurapur–I block and the area under the Mandirbazar block will together form the Mandirbazar assembly constituency. The area under the Magrahat–II block will form the Magrahat Purba assembly constituency. The Magrahat Paschim assembly constituency will be formed by the area covered by the Magrahat–I block and the Netra gram panchayats under the Diamond Harbour–I block. The other seven gram panchayats under this block, the Diamond Harbour municipality and six gram panchayats under the Diamond Harbour–II block, viz. Khordo, Patra, Mathur, Sarisa, Kamarpol and Nurpur, will together form the Diamond Harbour assembly constituency. The other two gram panchayats under the Diamond Harbour–II block, viz. Bhadura Haridas and Kalatalahat, and the Falta block will define the extent of the Falta assembly constituency. The constituencies of Mandirbazar and Magrahat Purba will be reserved for Scheduled castes (SC) candidates. Magrahat Purba constituency will be an assembly segment of the Jaynagar (Lok Sabha constituency), which will be reserved for SC candidates. The constituencies of Kulpi, Raidighi, Mandirbazar and Magrahat Paschim will be assembly segments of the Mathurapur (Lok Sabha constituency), which will be reserved for SC candidates. Diamond Harbour and Falta constituencies will assembly segments of the Diamond Harbour (Lok Sabha constituency).
