Dell Support Center

Dell Support Center is a software agent provided by Dell at no extra cost for the Dimension and Inspiron computer systems that they produce. Dell advertises that it is "a portal providing simplified access to self-help, support tools, chat, service resources, and system information". It also provides notification of available software and driver updates, upgrades, and patches. Dell Support Center was first released c. June 2007. Dell Support Center is a newer version and sequel of Dell Support. Dell Support was powered (written) by Gteko.

This software has interfaces for all of the following:

  • Links to Internet website for Dell PC Tuneup software, Dell computers that are Windows Vista compatible, and Dell upgrade and accessory parts,
  • Self Help tools such as Dell PC Checkup scanner, and links to Dell online support documentation, owner's manual, online training materials, and Dell Community Forums,
  • Alerts that provide notification of system events and prompts for actions to take,
  • Links to Dell Technical Support, Dell Warranty Information, and Dell Customer Service, and
  • System information detailing configuration of hardware, software, and settings.

    This software has interfaces for all of the following:

  • Link to Dell Automated PC TuneUp, a paid subscription software application,
  • Link to Frequently Asked Questions, and
  • Link to an embedded problem detection scanner.
  • It also provided notification and links to software and driver updates, upgrades, and patches.
