The next year, four members qualified for the competition held in Atlanta, Georgia. In early 2009, Del Sol's Thespian Board [Theatre Troop #6849] led by Helen Sax, hosted the annual "Thespian State Conference," where nearly all of the other high schools in and around the valley came to perform for judges in a friendly competition. In 2012, Del Sol won the Flip the Script contest, a challenge issued by R&R Partners to end bullying in schools. Also during the 2012-2013 school year, Del Sol's renowned drum line was awarded 'Drumline of the Year' by Las Vegas radio station 98.5 KLUC.
