Deglur is a town and a municipal council in Nanded district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is often written as Degloor in the local area. It is the largest taluka of Nanded. Degloor region has rich socio-cultural history.

It is near the point where Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka boundaries meet. The Telangana - Maharashtra state boundary is merely one and half a kilometer away from the town center and Karnataka state boundary is around 20 km. The town is situated on the banks of the river Lendi. Deglur has been well known(gokul nagar degloor )Ullewar community as well as a market place from ancient years. Main occupation of most of the population here is agriculture (Farming) in which they mostly grow Sugarcane, Cotton , Grains , Bananas. It is known for its Cloth Market, Gold Jewellary and Agricultural product. Nearby places are the villages Taakli on north (Deglur - Nanded State Highway), Kawalgaon on West-South (Deglur - Udgir state highway 168) and Mirzapur on East-South (Deglur - Madnoor state highway 104).

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Deglur had a population of 54,493. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Deglur has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73% and, female literacy is 55%. In Deglur, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. In the city, four languages are prominently spoken - Marathi, Urdu, Telugu and Kannada.

In the Degloor region there is place called 'Hottal' where you will find Hemadpanthi temple, which is tourist attraction. In city there is Dhundamaharaj's Math which is very famous. Tadkhel (6 km from Degloor on North-west side) is famous for ancient temple of God Shiva which is made up of big stones, temple has old script written on big stone very systematically which gives information about this area in ancient period, which is mentioned in Indian Ancient History and another temple of Jagdamba Devi which is next branch of Chandrapur's Jagdamba Devi Temple.
