Daphne calcicola is a shrub, of the family Thymelaeaceae. It is native to China, specifically Sichuan and Yunnan.

Description
The shrub is evergreen and grows up to 1.0 m tall. It grows on calcareous rocks and rocky slopes at altitudes ranging from 3100 to 3300 m.
History
This shrub was introduced by George Forrest in 1906 in the Lijiang Range in NW Yunnan. He described it as "One of the most beautiful plants in western Yunnan". Initially, it was given the name Daphne aurantiaca in 1912, but was given its own name in 1914 when it was realized that it grew in a more erect fashion than the Daphne aurantiaca variant.
