Crete is a small unincorporated community in Greensfork Township, Randolph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The town is about 3 miles (5 km) east of the town of Lynn.

History
A post office called Crete was established in 1882, and remained in operation until 1918. The community may have been named after the pet name of Lucretia, a local young woman.

Crete is located at 40°02′36″N 84°51′42″W.
Notable person
Jim Jones, leader of the People's Temple cult that committed mass murder in Jonestown, Guyana, in 1978, was born in Crete in 1931.
